Who Is Mistral Dawn?

Mistral Dawn is a thirty-something gal who has lived on both coasts of the US but somehow never in the middle. Taken By The Huntsman is her first effort at writing fiction and if it is well received she has ideas for several more novels and short-stories in this series. Please feel free to visit her on FaceBook or drop her a line at mistralkdawn@gmail.com

Something Worth Watching?

Hey Everyone!! :-)

I'm back with another video that I thought was worth sharing. Yes, this one is also political. No, not all of them will be, but, hey, it's Election Day, what did you expect? ;-)

You may have already seen at least part of this video. It's by Michael Moore and he's talking about why he thinks a lot of people are voting for Donald Trump. Part of this video has been flooding Facebook, and if you search for it on YouTube you'll find a bunch of right-wing loons, like Alex Jones, with selectively edited clips from it talking about it on their channels. But I thought it was important for people to hear the whole video, including the end that the right-wingers always seem to leave off, so I'm linking you to the video that's posted on Michael Moore's YouTube channel.

But first, I want to tell you my opinion about the video.  I think that Michael Moore is 100% spot-on with this as far as why a lot of people support Trump. Trump is popular where I live, and I know a lot of people who think this way. The problem is, they're wrong. Trump is not anti-establishment. He is the establishment. But he's not secure in his position among the the establishment. He's not establishment enough to buck the establishment.

Donald Trump is second-generation nouveau riche, which makes him insecure and desperate to fit in among his "betters." He longs for a seat in the Good Ol' Boys club, and he'll do anything to earn the approval of the establishment.  If he's given power, he'll use it to please the big-money interests so that they'll let him play ball with them.  He's like an unpopular child at school hanging around the fringes of the "in group" hoping they'll notice him and let him into their clique.

Right now, he lacks that power to command the attention of the establishment.  All he is to them is a joke, and he knows it. Instead of earning their respect by being competent and resourceful, he's chosen to act like a two-year-old and throw a tantrum to get them to pay attention to him.

As Michael Moore says, yes, if Trump is elected it will feel good...for about five minutes. Then he'll start kow-towing to the establishment and do all the things his voters were afraid Hillary Clinton would do. What's worse, since he has the emotional maturity of a toddler, he may also start WWIII because someone tells him he has small hands.

Trump is not the Fuck You people are looking for. If you want to tell the establishment Fuck You for real, vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson. The establishment hates them just as much, or more, than they hate Trump and they actually are radicals. Both Jill Stein and Gary Johnson have policy positions that are an anathema to the corporate interests that have a strangle-hold on our political process. And, unlike Trump, both of them have records that support the notion that they'll pursue making their policy positions into political reality if given the chance.

I you really want to tell both major parties and the corporate oligarchy Fuck You, then don't vote for the clown they distracted you with while they slipped in their puppet candidate. Instead, vote for one of the candidates that scares them so badly they did everything they could to hide them from you. Trump might talk a good game, but he's lying, and I think you know it. Vote for a candidate who is more than just talk.

This video doesn't allow embedding, so all I can offer you is the link, but it's definitely worth clicking on and checking out.
