Hey Everyone!! :-)
I hope you all had a fantastic holiday!! :-) Today, I have a short post about a difficult topic, domestic violence and abuse.
In Captivated By The Winter King, Kate, the lead female character has some experiences with a domestic partner, which, unfortunately, may be shared by some real people in the real world. Because of this, I thought it might be a good idea to help people find some of the resources available to those in a similar situation. Now, I'm not a psychological professional, and I'm certainly not in any position to tell anyone else how to live their life, but if you feel you might benefit by talking to someone better versed in helping those who are victims of domestic violence, you might want to contact one of the agencies listed below.
With the end of the holiday season, we sometimes forget to reach out to each other. I just wanted to remind everyone, you're not alone. So if you need help, please reach out to those who are waiting to offer it. If you live in an area that is not covered by any of the listed agencies, please contact your local authorities for assistance in locating an agency that does provide services in your area.

Thank you, as always, for reading, and please stay safe! I hope to see you all tomorrow on the next installment of Mistral Dawn's Musings! :-)
Yes! You are my new best friend, and I totally love this post. True, this is a difficult topic, but this is why the abuser wants people to remain silent, so the crime and humiliation continues. As you know, I focus on domestic violence throughout my blog and seeing an author talking about this is phenomenal. I also appreciate that you provide info for other countries. BIG, BIG Hugs to you for this and Happy New Year!!! www.intheknowwithro.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGood for you in using your blog to address this important issue! :-) I agree, silence only helps those who have something to hide. Victims have nothing to be ashamed of. No matter what type of abuse you are talking about, it's never the victim's fault. Hopefully, this information will help someone. But the real kudos go to the hardworking, caring people who work and volunteer for the agencies listed. They're making a real difference in people's lives. :-)
