Hey Everyone!!! :-)
Barbara Chioffi has some thoughts she'd like to share with us today. Barbara, take it away! :-)
Barbara:
Today, for the first time in ages, I have been singing all day and I am smiling. I have missed this. Some days are hard and we all have our share, but if you let it dominate your life, you are missing out on the joys that surround you.Bringing up my playlist of favorites had me remembering the times my sisters and I sat around the piano, singing our hearts out, definitely with plenty of wine, and also were the days my father and I sang together. Elation, the kind that lights your face and brightens your heart, is the best way I can describe it.
Years ago, my mother told me that I would only be good at one thing, music. She was right but I found other things I was good at. She meant well, guiding me toward my life's work with a wisdom I only recognized when I was much older. We are very fortunate if we find something in life that we can go to when we need rejuvenation, and more fortunate if it is our livelihood. I thank her every day.
No matter what brings you joy, whether it be singing, listening to good music, gardening, reading, writing, or simply enjoying nature in all its glory, use it. Let it be your solace, your ‘heart’ place. You'll never regret a moment.
One of my favorite songs is Over the Rainbow, so as I leave you, I am singing and happy.
