Who Is Mistral Dawn?

Mistral Dawn is a thirty-something gal who has lived on both coasts of the US but somehow never in the middle. She currently resides in the Southeast US with her kitty cats (please spay or neuter! :-)) where she works as a hospital drudge and attends graduate school. Taken By The Huntsman is her first effort at writing fiction and if it is well received she has ideas for several more novels and short-stories in this series. Please feel free to visit her on FaceBook or drop her a line at mistralkdawn@gmail.com

#HappyNewYear!! :-)

Hey Everyone!! 😊

Happy New Years! 😊  It's that time again, which means it's time for another one of my status check-ins. 😉 First of all, congratulations to all of you! If you're reading this, it means you've made it through all the trials and travails that 2020 threw at you, and that's no mean feat! Now, down to business.

It's hard to find anything good to say about 2020. Democrats rigged the primary against Bernie, again. And they got away with it. Again. Which resulted in the election of a corrupt, senile, racist, rapist, neoliberal like Biden. And, unfortunately, that means that there's not a lot of hope that things will improve any time in the foreseeable future.

Also, the COVID-19 pandemic happened and is still happening. Which has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and immeasurable damage to the health, wealth, and well-being of millions of regular Americans and people around the world. With more to come, undoubtedly.

So, as I said, it's hard to find much reason for the optimism I like to start the new year with, but reality is what it is.

What does this mean going forward? It means we'll all have to fight harder than we've ever fought before. Something that's going to be extremely difficult because, if you're like me, you're probably exhausted. But with the way things are, if we want to have any hope for the future, we'll have to fight tooth and nail against both wings of the corporate party that's in control of our government to force through the changes we need. Whether the ruling class likes it or not.

So, towards that end, I sincerely hope we will all stay strong, defiant, and determined, and that we'll all be around to toast each others' triumphs this time next year. Stay rowdy, indecorous, and non-compliant, my friends. Be as civilly disobedient as you dare, and then some, and make the oligarchs remember why they should fear the wrath of the majority. We have the power of numbers; we just have to find the will to use it. And, as always, remember, non illegitimi carborundum! 😉

Peace!
