Who Is Mistral Dawn?

Mistral Dawn is a thirty-something gal who has lived on both coasts of the US but somehow never in the middle. She currently resides in the Southeast US with her kitty cats (please spay or neuter! :-)) where she works as a hospital drudge and attends graduate school. Taken By The Huntsman is her first effort at writing fiction and if it is well received she has ideas for several more novels and short-stories in this series. Please feel free to visit her on FaceBook or drop her a line at mistralkdawn@gmail.com

#October2019 #IndieBooksBeSeen #Indie #Author #Books #Monthly #BookReview!

Hey Everyone!! :-)

It's the 18th again, so time for my #IndieBooksBeSeen monthly indie author book review!! Enjoy! :-)

Undead on Arrival by Stuart Kenyon:

The political wrangling continues in this third installment of the Augmented series, and appears as though it will ultimately fail. John and his friends find themselves struggling to cope with the prospect of the inevitable result of the failure of politics, war, and figuring out who among the power players are worthy of their support. Will they be able to sort out truth from deception and leaders from tyrants before it's too late? You'll have read to find out!

Once again I found myself drawing parallels between the events in this book and the events I see play out on the nightly news. The jockeying for position among a group of so-called leaders who only seem to be interested in the accumulation of power for themselves, the complete and utter conviction among some that their viewpoint is the only possible correct viewpoint and anyone who doesn't agree with them is by definition an enemy to be destroyed, the use of violence and coercion as short cuts to achieving goals that would be better served through persuasion and compromise are just a few aspects of this future society that mirror our own. While reading this book there were many times I wished I could pull the characters aside and give them a lecture on ethics and diplomacy...much as I often wish I could communicate to those who are running our government now. Bottom line, the realistic portrayal of humanity -- in all our wonderful, glorious genius and madness -- makes this a book worth reading. There aren't many authors who have the courage and honesty to paint our society as it truly is, warts and all, but Mr. Kenyon is one of them. Five stars and I can't wait to read the next book!
