Who Is Mistral Dawn?

Mistral Dawn is a thirty-something gal who has lived on both coasts of the US but somehow never in the middle. She currently resides in the Southeast US with her kitty cats (please spay or neuter! :-)) where she works as a hospital drudge and attends graduate school. Taken By The Huntsman is her first effort at writing fiction and if it is well received she has ideas for several more novels and short-stories in this series. Please feel free to visit her on FaceBook or drop her a line at mistralkdawn@gmail.com

Something Worth Watching?

Hey Everyone!! :-)

I'm back today with another video I wanted to share. This one discusses a principle that I hold dear, but which often enrages people who think partisanship is the ultimate goal in politics. It's not. It's really not. In fact, partisanship is the death of real political engagement. Partisanship is the absence of thought when politics is supposed to be the pinnacle of thought in action. After all, when you boil it down, politics is nothing more than philosophy put into practice. So, when I think someone -- even someone I like, someone I admire, someone I think is one of the shining stars in American politics today -- is on the wrong side of an issue, I'm going to speak out and do my best to put enough pressure on them to move them.

This video is a prime example of one of those times. I wholeheartedly agree with the arguments expressed in this video. And, even though my admiration for their target is undiminished, I very much hope these arguments are heard and listened to. Because politicians, all politicians, are public servants. Meaning they work for The People, and so they are answerable to The People. It's us they need to make happy, not party leaders or the DC establishment. And when We, The People don't feel they are representing our best interests, it's not only our right but our responsibility to call them on the carpet and make sure they understand they need to course-correct.

But, please, watch the video for yourselves and make your own decisions. Peace!
