Who Is Mistral Dawn?
Mistral Dawn is a thirty-something gal who has lived on both coasts of the US but somehow never in the middle. She currently resides in the Southeast US with her kitty cats (please spay or neuter! :-)) where she works as a hospital drudge and attends graduate school. Taken By The Huntsman is her first effort at writing fiction and if it is well received she has ideas for several more novels and short-stories in this series. #PumpkinSpice French Toast #Recipe!
Hey Everyone!! :-)
In the unlikely event you have leftovers from last week's recipe, here's an idea for what to do with them. Enjoy! ;-)
Ingredients:
Leftover Pumpkin Spice Bread Cut Into 1" Wide Slices (Recipe Here)
1 cup milk
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp brandy (optional)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp lemon zest (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients except the bread. Submerge each slice of bread in the egg mixture and allow them to sit for several minutes to absorb the flavors. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a pat of butter in the bottom. Lay each slice of bread in the skillet, being careful not to crowd them, and cook until golden brown. Flip the bread over and cook on the other side until golden brown. Serve warm with maple syrup or sprinkled with confectioner's sugar.
