The first of a genre-bending, time travel series is here, with Searching for Roy Buchanan!
Aki Sato is a teenager with a heavy burden, as she and her two brothers try to survive without their parents.
In addition, Aki is gifted with the power of the “Amida Syndrome,” or the ability to travel through time. It is a secret she must keep, but Aki does not even know how to use it.
A breakdown of the family truck one day leads them to Kazu, a retired blues musician. He agrees to teach Aki’s brother Hiro guitar, and becomes a mentor to Aki.
Struck by Kazu’s love of the blues, and Hiro’s fascination, Aki tries to test her powers. Through a series of misadventures, Aki and her brothers travel through time, meet legends and those lost to history, while rediscovering their selves.
Through Kazu’s guidance, the love of family and true friends, Aki begins to understand the Amida. She also discovers her own voice, her identity, and the power of the blues.
Searching... is the first of the Sweet Dreams Series, and the third book by Tory Gates to be released on Brown Posey Press. His previous works include the award-winning young adult novel A Moment in the Sun, Live from the Cafe, as well as Parasite Girls, which can be found on Amazon.com and Smashwords.
Tory is also a broadcaster with more than thirty years’ experience. Currently he is the Morning News Anchor for the Radio Pennsylvania Network. He hosts “The Brown Posey Press Show,” a program for authors as part of the BookSpeak Network, is also known as DJ`Riff, host of “The Music Club,” a blues-oriented program for the London-based Radio-Airwaves Station.
A native of Vermont, Tory lives in Harrisburg, PA with his five cats.
