It's the 18th again and I'm back on schedule, so here's my monthly #IndieBooksBeSeen indie author book review. Enjoy! :-)
Cro-Magnon by Robert Stimson:
Two scientists on opposite sides of a scientific debate are thrown together and forced to work together to unearth what may be one of the most significant scientific discoveries in human history. As they work, it becomes clear that science isn't the only motivation for the people who are supporting their research and more than just knowledge may be at stake. Will they succeed in preserving their discoveries for the good of humanity, or will greedy corporate interests win out in the end? You'll have to read to find out!
I enjoy this book. It was a complex topic that touched on multiple disciplines and the author clearly did his homework. There were quite a few typos, but that's something that could be solved with a good proofreader, and so isn't a big deal. Overall, it was an interesting subject that gave a fresh perspective to some of the questions surrounding how much of human behavior is based on genetics and out much on other factors. The characters were well-developed and engaging and the plot moved fast enough to keep things interesting. Five stars and I think I'll be checking out what else the author has published.
