#ValentinesDay #Sale! :-)

Hey Everyone!! :-)

Happy Valentines Day!!!! :-)  In celebration of the holiday dedicated to love and romance, I've discounted one of my favorite love stories, Taken By The Huntsman, to only 99 cents! :-)  So if you haven't already read it, hurry and get it now!  The sale is only good for today. ;-)  Don't know where to find it?  No problem!  You can get your copy here:

Now, just to whet your appetite and give you a taste of the romance that's in store, here's a little peek:

Cassie smiled and ran her fingers gently over his cheek and into his hair. Cadeyrn pulled her closer, and she felt the hardness of his body against hers. Leaning down, he kissed her with a passion that left her breathless. His lips were soft and gentle against hers, almost chaste. Until he pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, tracing his tongue along her lips until she opened to him, tasting her mouth thoroughly.

She moaned into his mouth and ran her hands over his broad shoulders and swollen biceps. Grabbing his bulging muscles, she used the leverage to try to pull herself closer still.

Cadeyrn groaned and pulled back. He looked down into the liquid blue eyes of his Anamchara and saw the passion and desire of a woman who knew exactly what she wanted.

“Cassie, tell me simply. Will you allow me to take you to bed this night? Yes or no?”

Holding his breath, he waited for the answer. He would abide by her decision regardless of what it was. Though, he was pretty sure she was as ready to take their relationship to the physical level as he was, he didn't want to rush or pressure her. But he was desperate for her to say yes.

Looking up at him with a teasing smile, she answered, "Oh, yes. I want you to take me to bed and show me what kind of skills a male can acquire with hundreds of millennia of practice.”

Cadeyrn growled deep in his throat. His eyes were glowing, and he felt his canines lengthen in his mouth. “Female,” he said, in a voice that had gone rough and gravely. “You know not what you ask for. But I will give it to you anyway!”

#Hard #Questions, #Harder #Decisions

Hey Everyone!!

Today, I'm going to tackle a difficult topic.  In fact, this post is about the hardest question people ask me about pet care, how to know when it's time to end a pet's suffering.  As you can imagine, it's a question that is fraught with emotional landmines and ethical conundrums.

Anyone who has ever had a pet who was struggling with the effects of disease and/or old age knows that questions like this come from a place of love.  Most people don't look at euthanasia as a solution unless they know their beloved family member is in pain.  Unfortunately, it's not always easy to know when it's the right solution even when your only concern is your pet's best interests.

I've found that, oftentimes, when I ask a vet this question their answer is some version of "you'll know when it's time."  At first blush, it seems like a rather glib answer, especially considering how emotionally charged the subject is.  But, honestly, I really think it's the only answer that's possible to give when dealing with generalities.

When people ask me this question, what I usually tell them is to take their pet to a vet they trust and listen to what that vet tells them.  It's hard.  It's human to want to hear the information doctors give us through a filter of what we want that information to be.  With pets, the difficulty is often further compounded by the fact that most animals are extremely skilled at concealing just how much pain they're in.  But in the case of having to make end of life decisions for our loved ones, it's really important to put wishful thinking and filters aside and hear what the expert you are consulting is telling you.

Listen to the options your vet lays out and weigh them against what you know about your pet.  Then, with that in mind, make the best decision you can for your baby.  You know your pet better than anyone else, which means you're in the best position to know what they would want.  It's not easy, not at all.  This question is the hardest one that pet parents face.  It requires the kind of selfless love that will break your heart.  But it's the last gift you can give your pet, and, in some cases, it's one you owe them.

One thing to keep in mind, the grief and guilt you feel in these situations is normal.  There are pet loss support groups online and in many communities.  Two websites with more information on dealing with the grief that comes from losing a pet are http://www.pet-loss.net/ and http://www.petloss.com/.  You can also contact your local animal shelters, many of them have information on support groups in the area.

I know this was a tough one today, folks, but I thought it was important.  And to all of those who are dealing with this kind of grief, *hugs!* You're not alone.

#Interview With Rachel Walter

Hey Everyone! :-)

Rachel Walter is joining us today.  Rachel, will you please tell us about yourself and how many books you have written?

Rachel:  My name is Rachel Walter and I live in Pennsylvania. I have 3 stepkids, 1 daughter, and a crazy species confused cat.  I have an adult contemporary - A Message of Flowers. an YA PNR series - True Connection (book one) and Soul Promise (book two) in The Soul Mate Series, and Pucked - a YA Contemporary.

Me:  Wow! You've been busy! :-)  What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

Rachel:  Pucked is a story about the effects of Parental Alienation on the kids involved and those closest to them. There's not much fiction about this, but it's definitely something that needs shared. So many families struggle with this, and a lot of times the kids don't even know it's happening. There are many forms of this type of mental abuse, but I chose to only touch the tip of the iceberg with Pucked. I do plan to write about PA more in the future.

Me:  Sounds like it's an issue that's very important to you.  What are you working on now?

Rachel:  Currently, Twisted Destiny (The Soul Mate Series) book three.

Me:  Cool!  What authors, or books, have influenced you?

Rachel:  S.E. Hinton will always hold a dear part of me. The Outsiders was the first book I read that made me cry and laugh and all the feelings that I never felt from a book before. It opened the floodgates and threw me into a love affair with literature.

Me:  Yeah, that's definitely a classic, Pony Boy. ;-)  What are you reading now?

Rachel:  I'm currently between books :( I read a romance last and I'm thinking I want something like a thriller or maybe something with a comedic spin to it. I just haven't found anything that's grabbed me yet. I'm open to suggestions though.

Me: Well, there are a lot of excellent books out there! :-)  For those who might consider reading your book, what would you tell them to expect?

Rachel:  Every reader is different and interprets a story differently, but I'd say you can expect to be angry or frustrated. It's the topic, promise.

Me:  Well, some topics are like that.  What is your favorite part of being an author?

Rachel:  The creation and research parts. Writing the actual story that will hopefully touch one person's heart.

Me:  Yeah, it's always a good feeling when you can do that. :-)  Do you have a day job as well?

Rachel:  Being a mom and stepmom totally counts, right? I'm also my daughter's guide in kindergarten (cyber school).

Me:  Wow! That definitely counts! :-)  What are the hardest and easiest parts about being a writer?

Rachel:  I think this has one answer, for me anyway. The creation and research parts. I LOVE it and hate it all at the same time.  Also, a bonus hard part is marketing.

Me:  Yeah, I think the marketing part is hard for a lot of us.  What genre do you place your book in?

Rachel:  Pucked is definitely young adult contemporary

Me:  Wonderful.  Is there anything else you'd like to tell your readers?

Rachel:  Thank you for sticking with me through the painfully long wait for the next book, and for not getting awful with me when I'm apologizing a dozen times for the wait.

Me:   Understanding readers are terrific! :-)  Are there any links you'd like me to post?

Rachel:
Blog- rachelwalterauthor.blogspot.com
Twitter- www.twitter.com/rachelw_auth
Facebook- www.facebook.com/rachelwalterauthor
Instagram- rachelwalterauthor
http://rachelwalterauthor.blogspot.com/p/young-adult.html - this is to a page that has all the links for Pucked

Me:  Perfect!  :-) Thank you so much for joining me today, Rachel.  And thank you everyone else who dropped by too!  Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the next installment of Mistral Dawn's Musings! :-)

Oh i get it, you need a sneaky peek right?

“Come and sit.” Gabriel kicked off his boots and moved to the center of the floor where he’d placed a large mattress and covered it in faux furs and cushions. Lyssa followed him. He pulled her down with him and they lay back against the padded headboard. Relieved she liked it, Gabriel sighed. “I can’t believe you did all this.” Lyssa couldn’t stop gazing, and each time she looked at another part, she discovered something new she’d missed the first time she looked. “Where did you get all this stuff?” “I drove into town yesterday while you were working.” He crushed her to him. “You really like it?” “I love it!” She beamed up at him and sighed. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” Gabriel squeezed her tighter, growling softly as her hand smoothed across his chest and trailed lower. He made her happy, which in turn, made him happy, and so everything was right with the world. Not expecting to find a female like him when he left his family, he often thought about his past life. Leaving the pack when he was just twenty, his life could have been different if he’d stayed. He thought he knew it all. How wrong he was. Distracted by slender fingers unzipping his jeans, Gabriel quickly returned to the present and groaned when Lyssa’s warm hand palmed his hardening cock. Despite wanting to hold onto her virginity for a little longer, Lyssa wasn’t stingy with other pleasures, and loved to get Gabriel off with either her hand or mouth. But he liked to go first. Gabriel rolled Lyssa onto her back and smothered her mouth with his in a deep, branding kiss. He excelled at everything, and kissing with perfectly formed lips was his specialty. Of course, his tongue came a close second, and Lyssa wondered how she had resisted him for so long once he started licking her. This would be her undoing. When he worked on that one spot with his fingers and his tongue, she was close to submitting. She mewed against his open mouth as he drew nearer for another panty-wetting kiss. It didn’t take long for her leg, draped over his hip, to start pulling against him. No words could describe his kisses accurately. They were like silk, satin and cotton candy all rolled into one. The taste of him made her dizzy with excitement. He’d moved his hand behind her neck, keeping her steady as he slanted his mouth across hers. Whimpering against him when his tongue snaked into her mouth to explore, she strained to uphold control. Her tongue greeted his with welcoming warmth, teasing it to delve deeper into her lair. It felt perfect and right. She’d kissed other guys, but there was no comparison. Gabriel was her wildest fantasy, and she knew she’d give herself over to him soon.

And it gets hotter! This urban fantasy is action-packed and a real page turner. It's got two hot males and a couple of alpha kick-ass chicks too! If you want to read more sneaky peeks, you can follow the link to other page on this site:  Blood Ties  is the first book from the Blood Trilogy Urban Fantasy and the 2nd book, Blood Brothers is coming very soon.

Don't #Forget The #BadGuys! ;-)

Hey Everyone!! :-)

Today I thought it might be nice to give you a quick peek at some of the darker characters who lurk around the Summer Court of Fairie.  In this excerpt from Intrigue In The Summer Court, you'll get to see how Ciane treats her allies. ;-)

Excerpt:
Sensing his lack of commitment to her cause, Ciane floated over to where her slave sat in the corner of the room. Stroking her gloved hand down the side of his face she said, "Renny," when he failed to look up she continued, "look at me. Look at me, Renny," she repeated. As he slowly raised anguished eyes to meet her cold ones she said, "You will gather the fire-making materials, won't you?"

Looking down again he whispered, "Aye, mistress."

"Look at me!" she demanded. When his eyes once again met hers she said, "I expect you to do everything in your power to make sure no one finds out what you're doing, or why, and for you to make sure you have absolutely everything we might need to set a building on fire. Do you understand?"

"Aye, mistress," he breathed, staring into her eyes helplessly. Drowning in their soulless depths.

An evil smile unfurled across her face, and she patted his cheek. "Good," she began pulling the glove off of her right hand, "and just to make sure you remember, I think I'll reinforce the message." She turned to look over her shoulder at the Elf who watched them with sickened fascination. "You need to stay in this tavern, but there's no need for you to remain in this room. You'd stand out downstairs, and someone might report your presence here, but I've also rented the room next to this one. You can wait there." She smirked and taunted, "Unless you want to watch."

"I think you are making this unnecessarily complicated," griped Aithne as she hurried towards the door. When she saw the tiny Fae reach toward the male who was huddled on the floor, she hastily left to go to the other room.

"Oh no," murmured Ciane as she turned her full attention towards her victim. "This is exactly how it should be." She sighed in pleasure when she saw the longing mingled with fear and revulsion on the male's face as she touched him.
